RIP Judge Henry

Chip Henry was a loved man in Geauga County, even among the juveniles that he met at court.

Henry was a probate and juvenile court judge for the county.

Most importantly though, he is a fellow Bomber alum, and Redhawk.

I knew Chip Henry in my younger years, where I campaigned for him, marched in parades for him, and was invited to BBQs in his honor.

Though he probably wouldn’t remember me anymore, I remembered him.

And, I will always remember the lessons he taught me at a young age.

Learning today, upon his death, that he also attended Miami University, makes me feel even a deeper connection towards him.

Not only was Henry a judge, helping the people of the county by keeping them safe, but he truly cared about every case he was presented.

Maybe that stems from his years in the Peace Corps, where he met his wife of 25 years, or maybe that stems from him being an amazing guy.

He is one of the classy, intelligent, and compassionate men that all people our age should look up to.

It is a sad day in Chagrin Falls, and all those who knew him are celebrating his life and the amazing person that he was, and still is.
